My Summer Capsule (aka, what I'm wearing in Mexico)

So over the last year I've lost a little bit of weight... enough that I needed some new clothes.  Add to that an adults trip to Mexico for a destination wedding, and we'll just say I had plenty of motivation to actualy sew myself a summer capsule wardrobe!!!

I used my needs and wants to dictate what I would make, and what new patterns I have created so far this spring.... I actualy have another amazing top pattern 1/2 drafted, but just not enough hours in the day to get it done before the big trip - but be on the look out!!!!!!

You've all seem my Amuse Hack and my Boho Breeze Romper and Maxi... here are a few of the other things I've sewn up.  Two new pairs o RDJ shorts, a Magnolia Hack (details on that coming soon!!!), and one more Boho breeze romper - cause you just can't have enough rompers!!!

Here is my first pair of shorts - these are a light stretch bottom weight fabric (like a thin twill).  I scored this in the red tag section at Joanns a few years ago - perfection for fun summer shorts.

Next up is my Magnolia Hack - I really wanted a cold shoulder top for summer, so I figured why not try it with my favorite fitting top pattern at the moment.  It was such an easy hack, and I love the look  This army green knit was sent to me from Girl Charlee and is so soft and supple, it feels great on and sewed up like a dream - which is important when you are sewing FAST!!!  These RDJ shorts might be my favorite thing I sewed up.  This is a printed denim that Girl Charlee carried a year or two ago, and I love it!!!!  Matching the print took me a bit, but I'm happy I tool the time to fussy cut and get it right.  This outfit is a major win - and my mom pretty much demanded a Magnolia for herself as payment for watching our kids while we are gone, so yeah, I'd say this one rocks!!!

Last but not least is my Boho Breeze Romper - this was actually my pre-test romper that i liked the fabric so much, I took it apart, re-cut it from the final pattern, added pockets and lace, and fell in love with!!!  I feel like the touch of lace just makes it pop as something special.  And can we say COMFY!!!!
