Whether you are surrounded by friends and family today and stuffing yourself with turkey or going about life as normal in all the other countries in the world where today is not a holiday, know that I am thankful for you and sending virtual hugs to one and all!!!
We are continuing to deck our closets with perfect outfits for the holidays, and for me the most perfect holiday essential is the Magnolia. It can dress up or down depending on fabric and length choices, but is always comfortable and always flattering. I decided to jump on the velvet bandwagon and sew up a Magnolia to wear this Thanksgiving. The fabric instantly looks 'luxe' but this knit fabric is all comfort. Add heels and some great jewelry and I'm set to make an impression and say yes to some pie.
I also decided to get a head start on Mack's holiday dresses (yes I say dresses becasue I'm crazy like that). I've been hording this gorgeous nutcracker fabric for a couple years and with the movie being released I knew that this was the year! So of course I went to my favorite - the Bateau Garden Dress. However, I wanted to mix it up this year and finally do a version that I've had planned since I very first released the pattern - a Bateau with sleeves. A simple merging of the Day By Day sleeve and armscye with the Bateau bodice and skirt -and voila...the sleeved Bateau I always wanted. I did the gathered sleeve...and maybe used my old pattern piece and forgot to add length according to how much she has grown in the last year - ooops, but still adorable!
Let's see what our other bloggers have in store for us today!
