The Day Dreamer Romper and Dress is the perfect pattern for all seasons. There are tons of options making it incredibly versatile. This is an advanced beginner/Intermediate level pattern that includes buttons (or snaps), pin tucks, bias binding, and elastic casings. The V neck and puff sleeves add a touch of femininity while staying 'ruffle free' for those picky girls who want to express their own sense of style. Front buttons or snaps allow most children the ability to take the romper on and off on their own for using the facilities. For the young ones, there is an optional snap placket that will make diaper changes a breeze. And of course if they are in the 'training' stages, just go with the dress!
The romper has both shorts and pants lengths with options for a cuffed hem or bubble hem on the shorts and a regular hem or elastic hem on the pants. You can roll up your regular pants hem for a cute cuffed capri look as well! The gathered skirt hits at the knee and has enough fullness to twirl without being a fabric hog. For sleeves, you have a cute double gathered puff sleeve or a sweet 3/4 length sleeve.
While the pattern works well in the dress or shorts version with quilting cottons, you will get the best drape from apparel fabrics. Rayon blends work particularly well.
