Halfway through our Summertime Blog Tour Week, are you getting inspired or re-inspired for your summer sewing????

Well today I'm taking a break from existing WWD patterns and I'm giving you all a chance to have a say in the future, WOOT WOOT.

So I present to you two fun dresses that could be future patterns for WWD - they were both styles and silhouettes that I wanted to play with for myself, but I'm not sure if they are 'pattern' worthy - HA!  And while we wait for new patterns to emerge, I'm giving 20% off the 4 patterns I used as launching points to create these looks with code: FUTURE.

Ok, so first up we have the Racing Dress.  This knit tank style dress has a racing back and built in shelf bra with cups so that bras are optional (well, at least for some of us).  The neck and armscyes are finished with bands that allow for fun pops of color.

I made this by mashing up the Magnolia, Double Take Tank, and Starting Point Tank.  I then drafted the shelf bra off of a swim block I've been fiddling with for way too long (nope - no promises of a swim suit yet.)  That many tweaks, fiddles, and new pieces equates a new pattern vs. a simple pattern hack that I'd encourage you to try at home.

Ok, next up is the Side Tie Dress.  This is another knit dress with scoop neck, dolman cap sleeves, and fun ties that create a great fit in a comfy garment.  This was a pinspiration that I wanted to see if I could pull off - I'd never tried on a dress like this before, but I've definitely found my new swim coverup and casual wear dress for this year, WOHOOO!!!!

This pattern was a mash up of the Riviera Romper and (soon to release) Classic Shift Dress with a new neckline and free-hand drafted sash ties... so once again, something that a person could fiddle with and maybe recreate, but too complicated to write up a 'hack' tutorial for.  Much better suited to a new pattern.

So what say you my sewing family????  Racing Dress or Side Tie Dress????  Or nope - we don't want those Suzanne, but they look cute on you.  You get to decide a tiny piece of the FUTURE of WWD!!!

Save 20% off all 4 patterns that I used to serve as launching points for these looks with code: FUTURE.
