Back in December I teased out the illustration of this phenomenal shirt dress I was starting to work on... in my head it was just going to go together so easily and quickly and I even had illusions of grandeur that I could release if before Christmas. HA!!!! Fast forward through testing revisions and life complications and here on the last day of January I finally get to introduce the Blithe Blouse and Dress!!!!
I have to take a moment to say thank you to the amazing testers who put up with my sluggish post holiday brain. These ladies made multiple muslins, discussed ideas with me for getting different fit options, and kept me smiling and laughing throughout. We had a blast, so thank you ladies!!!!
Here are just a few Tester images to show off their hard work and how different fabrics look in the pattern. This is designed for woven fabrics, I recommend things with some drape for the most flattering fit, but these tester images show a range of fabrics from Rayon to Chambray, and even Cotton:
The Blithe Blouse and Dress is a women's pattern that will fit all your casual and business needs. With a full collar and collar stand, front and back yoke, and 3 sleeve lengths; this pattern is figure flattering in sizes XS-XXXL. Mix and match your fabrics, or keep it all in one color to get the exact look that you want. The Gathered Back provides ample ease for a relaxed fit, while the pleated back is more fitted and hugs the curves a bit more. There is also an option of a less flared back, simply turn on the 'Narrow Cut Line' layer. Because of these variations on fit, I highly recommend making a muslin for the pleated back and/or narrow cut line versions.
Here is a side by side comparison of the two fits, the floral dress is the gathered back and the blue tunic is the pleated back:
***The dress has the shirt tail hem, while this tunic shows the straight hem option.***
